Anza Knives - “Black Bird” Bastard File Knife, Black Linen Micarta Handle
Anza has been committed to providing top handmade affordable knives for the sportsman and collector since 1980. Anza chooses to make knives from files because a file is an excellent source of high carbon tool steel. Through a process called annealing, the brittleness normally found in a file is removed. The knives are then hand ground to shape, a handle is then added, and final finishing, polishing and sharpening are then completed. The final result is a beautifully handmade knife that will both hold an edge and sharpen easily. Anza knives are so sharp and hold an edge so well, they have become a favorite among guides and outfitters, hunters, backpackers, and fishermen. They are also widely used as a utility knife by the "working man". All Anza Knives are handmade, each one is different in its own way. This is one reason Anza Knives are very popular among collectors.
Presented is a 1 off Custom Anza Knives “Black Bird” Bastard File Knife, it has an overall length of 8 1/2" and is made from a 10" Annealed Bastard File in Full Tang Construction. The Modified Straight Top Blade measures 4 1/4" long. Striking Bastard File teeth are left on non-critical areas of the blade giving it character. A deep Thumb Rest and a False Edge accents the blade's spine. The High Carbon File Tool Steel holds a very sharp edge and is easy to sharpen. The polished handle is rugged Black Linen Micarta.
